DAILY WRITING

Day 4
What is happiness to you? Is it a feeling, a goal, something to do with God? Many of us think it’s something that is there at times, and gone at others. But have you ever thought about the fact that it could be something that never disappears?
Romans 8:28 says ‘And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.’
If we simply love God and do good things for Him, no matter how hard it looks, everything will come together in the end. You’ll look back and see what He had planned for you all along. Happiness isn’t a feeling, although it can be, but it’s more knowing that no matter what the circumstances, God has it all under control.
My favourite quote at the moment is ‘Without the rain there will be no rainbow’ (unknown author).
You may not feel on top of the world every day of your life, and that’s okay. But if you can keep in mind that God has your whole life in His hands, and that eventually things are going to work out, then you may just start to experience true happiness.
For a long time my favourite verse has been 1 Peter 5:7, which says ‘Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you’.
So no matter what, God is there, listening. All you have to do is give all your worries and troubles to Him, and know that He has it all under control. Then, search for that inner happiness, because with that happiness will come peace. Peace in knowing that you don’t have to handle everything on your own.
