DAILY WRITING
Day 6
Day 6
Aaah,
don’t you just love holidays? Lazing around at home, watching movies
you haven’t seen in yonks, having more time to write, cooking whatever
you want…
I guess I try to enjoy holidays as much as I can. Don’t we all? But sometimes it can get a little out of hand…
See, God called us to work for Him. Proverbs 10:4 says ‘Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.’
When
we don’t do work, it becomes a habit, and we become lazy. Our finances
go down, we feel more depressed, and we find it harder and harder to
work, do exercise, etc.
If
you were to watch a lazy person and a hard-working person for their
whole lives, at first it may seem the lazy person would have it easier.
But in the long run the hard-working person would achieve much greater
things, they’d make more money, and they’d generally be a much happier,
healthier person.
Hebrews
6:12 says ‘We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who
through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.’
If
we try to work hard for God, He’ll give us what we need, and we’ll have
stored for us everlasting treasures in heaven. But if we’re lazy, we’ll
become weak, and God will not be happy with us. We will lose all our
hope and crave earthly desires.
Don’t
let your mind and/or body grow weak! If you struggle with this (like me
when I’m on holidays), stick with God. He can give you strength to do
hard things, and remember, nothing is impossible with Christ
(Philippians 4:13).
I
encourage you to read Ecclesiastes. It made me think about things I’d
never even thought to ponder before. It has urged me to really live my
life for God, even if it means giving up absolutely everything this
world has to offer.
Please, even if you don’t follow this blog, comment or tick a box below. I’d really love some feedback!
