DAILY WRITING

Day 7

How much, from one to ten, do you like going to church? Do you go depending on your mood? Is it something you only do for Easter and/or Christmas?
Sometimes we may not feel like going to Church. Whether we feel judged, we don't really get anything out of it, or simply that we have a habit of sleeping in, at least once in a while we won't feel like going.
Acts 2:44-45 says 'All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.'
God didn't make a commandment that we have to go to Church. But He does encourage it. He likes us to get together with other believers to strengthen us and to help us keep on track.
Acts 12:5 says 'So Peter was kept in prison, but The Church was earnestly praying to God for him.'
When Christians get together and pray about the same things, it doesn't mean God hears them more, but it certainly helps.
Maybe you don't go to Church. Like I said before, we don't have to. Maybe having devotions with a group of believers once a week encourages you more than any preacher has. If that sounds familiar, that's perfectly fine! God simply encourage us to talk to other believers about how we're doing in our spiritual lives and to encourage one another in our walks with Christ.
The other day I found a verse that has some advice about friends. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says 'Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.'
If you don't have many friends, what better ones to make than ones that can help you to do your best for God? If you've been feeling discouraged, and you simply can't get anything out of Church, use it as an opportunity to make new friends instead!
You never know, God may just have someone at Church planned for your life that you haven't thought to search for.
