Poetry
I love writing poems. I can express my most inner thoughts, weave them into a story; a thousand tiny words on paper. They can be disguised, or full on heart-on-the-sleeve. It doesn't matter. It's your own. No one else's.
Here's my favourite. You can decipher it any way you please. That's one of the greatest things about poetry, and even music. It's that one person may take it one way, while someone else takes a completely different angle. But it stays personal. Which is great!
Some days I feel so lonely,
Some days I feel so cold.
Staring out the window,
Is a girl who's not so bold.
Words are all I have these days,
They are what keep me sane.
They describe my joyous moments,
And pull me through my pain.
Sitting at a computer desk,
Imagination my only hope.
Without the words inside my head,
I don't think I'd cope.
I tried an instrument and a sport,
I even dreamed of them.
But my love for writing is as nice,
As a rose, on a stem.
The words I wish would leave my mouth,
Stay stirring in my mind.
If only I could get them out,
I wouldn't feel so blind.
My voice is in my fingers,
There's no denying this.
I guess I want to hear my voice,
Is that too large a wish?
