FORGIVENESS

Is it only a coincidence that the letter F lands on Good Friday? The day we celebrate Jesus rising from the grave, the day we thank Him for His forgiveness?
To be honest, I don't fully understand what Jesus dying on the cross represents. I know I should. I know that being a Christian is based around what He did that day. But everyone has different opinions, and I just don't know where I stand.
Did He die so that a spiritual bridge could be built between us and God? I think that's the answer I'm leaning more towards. But there are other ideas, like He died so we wouldn't have to face the cross. I guess that, without Him dying, we deserve the cross. But I doubt we'd literally have to die on a cross if He hadn't...
Who knew believing in God could be so difficult. It's as if every time I try to reach out to Him, something grips my other hand. I'm stretched between two worlds.

Easter is so far from the Truth in Western culture. Why do we have to be so arrogant? Why can't we be more like those people who are so thankful for the little they have? The ones who praise God in songs while they work in the boiling sun, bones almost visible from under their skin?

That's only my opinion. You might be perfectly happy living in a rich, technology-based society. I'm just, well, not.
