DAILY WRITING
A while ago I had a different blog called Rose's Daily Writing. I completed about ten days before getting too busy to continue. However, I did keep those ten days of writing. They're pretty much my thoughts on a few different things under the subject of God. Over the next few days I'll show them all to you. I hope you like them.
Here's the first one:
Sticky Note...

Day 1
I think it’s
pretty much human nature to compare ourselves to others. We look at others and
subconsciously judge them by their appearance, or by the way they talk. If we
already know them we judge them on the way they act around us or by how secure
they seem.
So often we
look at others and see how ‘better off’ they are than us. They have way more
clothes, more friends, they’re a better Christian, they’re more fit, etc.
These
conclusions can leave us feeling worthless, depressed, daggy, ugly, etc. and it
isn’t good for us.
But in 1
Samuel 16:7 it says ‘The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People
judge by outward appearance, but The Lord looks at the heart.’
God doesn’t
judge us on what we’re wearing today, or by how we feel today, or by the fake
smile we put on when we get an unexpected Christmas present. He judges us on
what’s in our hearts, and in the end that’s all that really counts.
In 1 Timothy
2:9-10 it says ‘And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should
wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by
the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by
the good things they do.’
So tomorrow,
when you stare into your full-length mirror trying to decide what to wear, or
when you’re trying to style your hair the way ‘everyone else’ seems to be
styling theirs, just stop for a few moments and think: am I trying to impress
the people around me, or am I trying to please God?
Always remember that it doesn't matter how big your house is, or how much money you have, or how popular you are, it's your heart that matters. And if your heart yearns to please God and to love others each and every single day, you may just break free of the judging habit that everyone seems to be into. But then again, maybe that's just me judging how people think?

~Thanks.
