DAILY WRITING

Day 10

Changing the world seems so hard to do. We look at famous pastors, music bands/artists, and even prime ministers, and all we see in ourselves is 'not enough'.
Thoughts like 'I could never achieve something as big as that!' or 'I'm such an introvert, there's no way someone like me could make a difference' go through our minds.
There is a quote by Brandi Snyders that goes 'To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world'.
At times we are blinded by thinking, or making excuses, that to make some sort of difference we have to change the world. But this isn't true.

Matthew 22:37-39 says 'Jesus replied, 'you must love The Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.''

Apart from loving God, loving others is the most important thing in life. You may not be a famous Christian, and you may never be. But it's what's in the heart that counts.

If we do one Random Act of Kindness a day, we may just end up changing a few lives. If we try our hardest and only bring one person to Christ, He will still reward us. He loves us and knows when we try our best to please Him.

So maybe, instead of looking at the world and feeling glum, you should look at something small and feel motivated. Is there someone you know who is struggling with finances? Someone who doesn't have many friends? Someone who doesn't know God?

Why don't you go and help them? Who knows, maybe you'll start a chain - you help one person, they help someone else, etc. Besides, as the old saying goes, 'you won't know until you try'!
